Work is advancing steadily on Wakehurst Hall, a new 67-bed care home development for Barchester Healthcare in Haywards Heath, as construction teams mark a major milestone on site.

Located in the heart of the bustling market town, the project is transforming the site of two previously abandoned houses into a modern care facility designed to serve the local community.

Despite a challenging start to the year weather-wise, the Lawrence Baker team have powered through the elements to complete the roof structure. With brighter days ahead (hopefully!), roof coverings are next on the agenda and momentum is building fast.

With Practical Completion scheduled for Q4 2026, Wakehurst Hall is set to become another standout project, and if it’s anything like the standard we’ve come to expect from Barchester, Harris Irwin and Lawrence Baker, it’s going to be something special.
